6.3.6.5

Email Manager Import Id provided to DDE

For an Email Manager deployment created via our DDE plugin it is now possible to create a field containing the Email Manager Import Id. This can be used as a key to export values out at the time the deployment is sent.

The Email Manager Import Id has also been added as a column into the Single Event View feed to Campaigns

When both these features are used in conjunction it is possible to export values used within Email Creatives in DDE and load them into Engine linking them to the Single Event View data automatically provided.

In this manner the user can see, for example the exact field value or link that was added to an email sent out of DDE. This information was not previously available.

Gallery Preview

Gallery preview previously included several renders that have significantly decreased in market share over the years. These have been removed to allow better performance for the functionality and a simpler interface.

6.3.6

Automated Reporting

Automated Reports on the last day of the month

An automated report set for the last day of the month will always now run on the very last day of the month.

Automatically Adding New Events to Automated Reports

Automated reports previously ran only on the creatives and events specifically selected by the user. Creatives and the events added after the report was initially scheduled were not included. A previous change automatically included creatives added after the schedule was set if this was selected.

This change is an extension of this work and will include in the automated report any user defined events linked to these automatically added creatives.

6.3.4

In Email Manager 6.3.2 we introduced changes to significantly improve the performance of the get deployments API. This API is used by the Email Manager Deployment Manager and the Campaign Activity Monitor functionality built into Campaign Manager. These improvements will be turned on by default following the installation of Email Manager 6.3.4.

Automated Email Preview Text – Email Preview text is one of the three visual ways you can encourage an email to be opened. To make this easy to manage and to allow easy testing and continual improvement we have added a new system variable called emailpreheader. This variable will be automatically added to the very top of all new (or edited) email creatives.

See the Email Manager 6.3.4 Release Notes for further details.

6.3.3

Further Improvements to reduce the chances of duplicates being created in the Single Event View feed from Email Manager.

6.3.2

Improvements to the Single Event View process within email manager. The changes will reduce the chances that duplicates are erroneously formed causing issues when loading the data into AlterianCampaigns.

Functionality has been added that will “Lock” an email manager record from change. This has been added to support our data protection services specifically around right to erasure requests.

6.3.1

The key functional change is to expand upon the preferences functionality added in 6.3.0. The key improvement is the ability to update a recipient’s preference status directly from an Email Manager General Data Capture form (GDC).

6.3.0

The key functional changes are to align Email Manager with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) becoming live across Europe from May 2018.

- Broadening of the number of preferences that can be assigned to your recipients within Email Manager.

o Allows details of the preferences to be stored against it.

o Allows preferences to be assigned to specific creatives.

o Allows you to update the customer visible preference name.

o Allows auditing on preference changes, and creation of new preferences by users.

o Adds the new preferences fields into the standard Email Manager preferences page.

o List Query has been updated allowing you to create lists of recipients holding or not holding specific preferences.

- Email complaints over time have a negative impact on your Email deliverability. One of the key reasons for complaints is an inability to unsubscribe, or a lack of trust that a standard unsubscribe method will be honored. List unsubscribe provides an easy to find unsubscribe mechanism built into the email client itself. This functionality has been added as a default following Email Manager 6.3.0.

- Single Event View registrations will automatically be suspended then disabled if files re not pulled regularly.

- Email Manager executable name change and security improvements.

- Added ability to MD5 hash an Email Manager variable.

Improvements have been made in collecting Email Manager user agent data, including mobile devices for the first time. This data is stored for future analytical use. In this release limited elements of the data appear in the Email Manager Quick Totals report, replacing and improving the existing Platform and Browser information.

  • Importing Lists - List import performance has been improved.
  • Email Rendering Gallery View - Emails can now be verified more accurately in Gallery view with the new tablet rendering functionality. This includes devices such as: Ipad, Ipad mini, Android and Windows Phone 8.
